The Monterrey Institute for Technological and Advanced Studies (Spanish: Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey or ITESM) is a private university in Monterrey , Mexico founded in 1943. ITESM is also known under the names Monterrey Tec , Tecnológico , Tec de Monterrey or just Tec . The main campus is located in Monterrey, Mexico. The ITESM network now comprises more than 30 regional campuses in various countries in Latin America . ITESM is also responsible for the Escuela de Graduados en Administración y Dirección de Empresas (EGADE - School for Postgraduate Studies in Administration and Business Administration), the PrepaTEC (preparatory school) and the Universidad Virtual (virtual university).
In 2006, ITESM was listed as the 7th best business school in the world in the Wall Street Journal ranking; ahead of MIT , the Haas School of Business , Wharton and Stanford, and behind Columbia University and Thunderbird. In 2007 ITESM was named the 10th most expensive university (tuition fees) in the world in the FORBES ranking .
