The Institute for the Objectification of Learning and Examination Procedures (IZOP Institute) is a media education institute based in Aachen , whose main focus is the realization of projects for media education.

Main focus of work and radius of action

The IZOP Institute pursues the following core objectives when planning, realizing and evaluating its media educational projects:

Projects

The IZOP Institute carries out media education projects aimed at primary, secondary and secondary school students and their teachers. The first project to promote reading and media education started in 1979 in Aachen. Such projects and their goals are part of some curricula in Germany. Participation in projects of the IZOP Institute is shown by some schools on their websites.

Perspective

Perspective - youth and economy in the northwest is designed as an integral part of the seminar subject in Lower Saxony. The project is carried out by the Nordwest-Zeitung and the Landessparkasse zu Oldenburg and is aimed at high school students. The aims of the project are to improve economic education, introduce students to scientific work and promote media skills.

Craft reporter

Handwerks-Reporter - Schule und Praxis is a partnership project between Nordwest-Zeitung, the Oldenburg Chamber of Crafts and School and is aimed at pupils in the final years of secondary schools, secondary schools and secondary schools. Youth and economy

Youth and Economy is a supraregional project of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Association of German Banks and is aimed primarily at students in grades 10, 11 and 12 from comprehensive schools, high schools, business and vocational schools. The aims of the project are to convey the value and benefits of reading a quality newspaper, especially the business section, to convey sustainable interest in business and to lay the foundations for successful writing for the FAZ or the project-internal newspaper.

Church newspaper in school

Church newspaper in the school is a religious and media educational project and is aimed at students in grades 3 and 4 of primary schools and students in grades 5 and 6 of secondary schools. The aims of the project are to promote religious and ethical education, to promote reading motivation, to strengthen basic reading and writing skills and to impart and strengthen the ability to use traditional and new media in a meaningful way. The project is described in the 66th issue of the magazine Ding - Wort - Zahl .

Reading and writing training

Reading and writing training (LuST) is a cooperation model between school, newspaper and the IZOP institute and is aimed at students in grade 1 of primary schools. The aims of the project are to support students in writing, improve reading skills and introduce them to the daily newspaper as a medium.

My newspaper

Meine Zeitung - Frankfurt students read the FAZ is a regional project of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Polytechnic Society Foundation and is aimed at students in grades 6 to 10 of secondary schools, secondary schools, comprehensive schools and grammar schools. The aims of the project are to promote reading motivation, to strengthen basic reading and writing skills and to impart and strengthen the ability to use traditional and new media in a meaningful way.

The environment builds bridges

Environment Builds Bridges - Çevrecilikle Kurulan Köprüler is a German-Turkish environmental education project by the DBU , ZUK and IZOP Institute and is aimed at secondary school students in Germany and Turkey. The aims of the project are to introduce young people to current environmental issues, heighten environmental awareness, promote design skills, strengthen intercultural skills and promote media and reading skills.

A forerunner of the current project has been officially recognized as a UN Decade project . The presidents of the states of the participating schools have taken on the patronage of the current project and its predecessors.

Right of way for safe driving

Right of way for safe driving - young people take responsibility is carried out with several regional newspapers in cooperation with the German Road Safety Council , commercial professional associations, accident insurance companies and the initiative Kavalier der Straße and is aimed at pupils in grades 8 to 12 from secondary schools, secondary schools, comprehensive schools, and high schools vocational schools. The aims of the project are the promotion of traffic education, the recruitment of young people in particular for responsible and safety-oriented participation in road traffic, the promotion of reading motivation, the strengthening of the basic skills of reading and writing as well as the imparting and strengthening of the skills to use traditional and new media sensibly to use them for organized information retrieval and to use researched information for text creation. The project is known to the Bundestag as a measure to reduce the accident risks of young drivers. The Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development awards good performance to participating students.

Newspaper in primary school

Newspaper in the primary level was first carried out in 1993 and is aimed at students in grades (2,) 3 and 4 (Germany) or in grades (2,) 3, 4, 5 and 6 (Belgium and Switzerland). Newspaper in school

Newspaper in school is the "classic" IZOP media project, was born in 1979, has been continuously developed since then with the change in the media landscape and is aimed at students in grades 7 to 10 of all school types. The aims of the project are to promote reading motivation, to strengthen basic reading and writing skills and to impart and strengthen the skills to use traditional and new media in a meaningful way, to use them for organized information gathering and to use the researched information for articles, long-term or specialist work use. The Schleswig-Holstein Business Academy explains the project on its website and describes that it is based on an initiative of the BDZV and the IZOP Institute.

Activity in social networks

The IZOP Institute maintains and maintains profiles on some of the largest social networks . The IZOP Institute provides information on Facebook , Google Plus and Twitter several times a week about news related to its projects or the institute itself.

E-learning portal www.ezop.de
