I Am the Club Rocker is the second studio album by the Romanian dance singer INNA .
publication
The first single Sun Is Up , which was released at the end of February 2011, reached number 26 in the German single charts on May 13, 2011, making it the best chart position for an INNA song in Germany. The second single Club Rocker , a collaboration with the American rapper Flo Rida , reached number 55 on February 3, 2012.
The album itself was released in Germany on September 16, 2011. A double CD version of I Am The Club Rocker was released on December 2, 2011 and contains 13 new titles and some remixes as well as all the songs from the first album Hot .
style
English and / or Spanish is sung in the songs. All songs were written and produced by the Romanian producer trio Play & Win. Musically, the album is assigned to the genres of eurodance and dance-pop , with house elements and acoustic guitars also being used.
reception
While the released singles sold well and reached chart positions, the album itself received mostly poor reviews from the critics. According to the online magazine Laut.de : “The scheme is almost identical for all songs: Galloping offbeat keyboards initially meet with innovative everyday beats, before Inna's thin vocal organ moves on almost the same pitch for the next three or four minutes and cobble together the rhymes from a dictionary for sixth graders ”. The news agency teleschau also criticized the fact that the singer's songs sounded “all the same” and rated the album as “disappointing”. The radio station BB Radio , on the other hand, found it astonishing how “harmonious and compatible” the old and new songs fit together, praised the “incredibly danceable and happy disco sound” and thought Inna had remained true to her style. There was general praise especially for the song "Endless", which, according to the critics, stands out musically and vocally from the other songs.
