I Concentrate on You is a song written by Cole Porter and published in 1939. Porter composed it for the musical film Broadway Melody in 1940 ; In the following years he was covered by numerous cover versions , u. a. by Chris Connor , Carmen McRae , Frank Sinatra and Mel Tormé also to a jazz standard .

In the Metro Goldwyn Mayer film Broadway Melody of 1940 (directed by Norman Taurog ) the song was presented by Douglas McPhail and accompanied a dance sequence by Eleanor Powell and Fred Astaire . I Concentrate on You hit the charts twice in 1940, in the version by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra with band vocalist Anita Boyer (Victor 26470) at # 20 and by Eddy Duchin and His Orchestra with Stanley Worth (# 25). Furthermore, Cole Porter's song was recorded in 1939/40 by Les Brown , Dick Jurgens / Eddy Howard ( Vocalion 5442) and the Casa Loma Orchestra . In 1941 he was also taken on by Gunnar Sønstevold in Sweden and Eddie Brunner in Switzerland.
