I Like It Loud is a song by the German DJ and producer Marc Acardipane in collaboration with the Trinidad and Tobago rapper The Ultimate MC. Acardipane presents his alias Marshall Masters with the song. The song was released on June 25, 1997 on his own record label "Acardipane Records" and the Dutch entertainment label " ID&T ". With a cover version of the German dance band Scooter in 2003, the song gained worldwide attention.

The lyrics of the song are based on the song I Can't Live Without My Radio by the American rapper LL Cool J from 1985. The single was released in combination with several B-sides. These consisted of the songs Hustler for Life with Nasty Django, Master Anthem and a radio edit of the track.

Chart placements

I Like It Loud reached a place in the official singles charts of Belgium. There it moved up to 3rd place in the Dutch area of Flanders . The single reached number 51 in the Dutch top 100.

The song was released by the German dance band Scooter under the name Maria (I Like It Loud) . It was released as the third and final single from the 2003 album The Stadium Techno Experience .

The single version was recorded as a remix of the album version with Marc Acardipane and Dick Rules . The music video shows Scooter performing in a night club . In the music charts the single reached number 4 in Germany and number 1 in Austria . HP Baxxter met his future wife while filming the music video . On October 11, 2013, a new version of Scooter's cover version was released. It was newly recorded in collaboration with the German dance project RIO and was released together with the album 20 Years of Hardcore .

The song is also used by some football clubs such as Steaua Bucharest , Borussia Mönchengladbach , 1. FC Heidenheim , SV Wehen Wiesbaden , US Palermo and Philadelphia Union , mainly as a goal anthem . In the National Hockey League , the Philadelphia Flyers use the song as a goal anthem. The kickboxer Gago Drago uses a version of the song as an invasion hymn. The Leipzig judo club used the instrumental part with the distinctive Dubbdubbdubb ... after an important point of the club in its own hall.

Chart placements

Maria (I Like It Loud) reached high positions in the official singles charts in several European countries. In Austria Scooter and Marc Arcadipane moved up to the top position, while in Germany they reached fourth place and Hungary number two. They also advanced to the top 100 in Romania and Sweden, among others.

More cover versions

In 2002 the song was covered as a trance music version by Club Robbers and in 2007 by the hard trance band Cosmic Guys. Marc Acardipane recorded the song with Dick Rules as a single version in 2003. The Canadian post-hardcore band Abandon All Ships recorded a short version of the song. In 2018, the Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto released a big room version of the song together with producer John Christian. This was included on the EP of the same name.
