I Salonisti are a Swiss piano quintet founded in 1981. The five musicians live in Bern .

music

With their thematically inspired concert programs, I Salonisti deliberately move beyond the rigid categories of light and serious music . I Salonisti play works by Nino Rota , Fritz Kreisler , George Enescu , Astor Piazzolla , Claude Debussy , George Gershwin , Béla Bartók , Emmerich Kálmán , Kurt Weill and Johannes Brahms , among others . Thanks to longstanding contacts with composers in different countries, they play compositions and arrangements that are written for them.

I Salonisti helped initiate and decisively shape the phenomenon of the salon music renaissance since the 1980s.
