I Santo California is an Italian band that had their greatest success in the 1970s.

Band history

I Santo California was founded in 1973 in the southern Italian region of Campania . In 1975 they recorded their biggest hit, Tornerò , of which around eleven million records were sold worldwide and which was partly sold outside of Italy in the respective national language. Michael Holm sang the German version : Wait for me . Tornerò reached number one in Switzerland as well as other top 10 placements. In Germany the single reached number two in the charts.

In the following years they were particularly successful with their publications in Switzerland. 1977 the band recorded with the title Monica at the Sanremo Music Festival in part, reaching third place. Shortly after this success, the music group withdrew from the limelight and decided to only perform at smaller regional events.
