Ian Davis (Manager)

Sir Ian Edward Lamert Davis (born March 10, 1951 in the United Kingdom ) is a British manager and businessman.

Life

Davis studied at Balliol College of Oxford University and worked for seven years in the management of the company Bowater (paper industry). Prior to his role as world general manager, Davis ran McKinsey's London office . He was the first European to head the company, for which he has worked as a consultant since 1979 . From July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2009, Davis was the global managing director (MD for short) of the management consultancy McKinsey . Previously this was Rajat Gupta . The position of MD is elected for three years by a partner committee, with a maximum of three terms of office. In February 2006 , Davis was re-elected for his second term, which began July 1, 2006 . In February 2009 Dominic Barton was elected as his successor, who took over the office from July 2009. He is currently the chairman of Rolls-Royce Holdings .
