Ian Michael Smith

Ian Michael Smith (born May 5, 1987 in Illinois , USA ) is an American film actor .

Life

Smith became known in 1998 for his role in the film drama Simon Birch on the side of Joseph Mazzello . For the role, Smith won the Broadcast Film Critics Association's 1999 Best Child Performance award. Smith's short stature of 94 centimeters is attributed to Morquio syndrome .

Today Smith is a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a private spokesperson for NORD , an association that aims to research rare diseases.
