Ian Roberts (born July 31, 1965 in London ) is an Australian rugby league player and actor.

Athletic career

At the beginning of his sporting career, Roberts, a South Junior , played as a forward . He overcame a series of injuries and reached his full potential in the testing arena. Although he had not yet played for a rugby league team in New South Wales or Australia, he received a contract from the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in Australia in 1990 .

In early 2005, Ian Roberts appeared in the second series of the Australian edition of Dancing with the Stars , where he danced with Natalie Lowe. In 2005 he was voted one of the 25 most important Australian rugby team players.

Private life and engagement

In 1995 Roberts came out and appeared in various publications and media in Australia and New Zealand. In 1998 Roberts ended his athletic career due to his injuries and began studying at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney . Roberts has been recognized for his commitment to sports and LGBT , and received the Australian Sports Medal for his contribution to the international reputation of the Australian Rugby League.
