Ich bin Dein Gummibär is a pop song by the producer duo Gummibär with a reference to gummy bears . It was written by the German composer Christian Schneider and published by the Gummybear International label. The song was first released in Hungary, where it was number one on the ringtone charts for eight months.

As a result, it became the global internet meme , in large part due to the related videos on YouTube and MySpace . It has since been published in at least twenty-five languages and has been played more than two billion times worldwide. The French version ( Je m'appelle Funny Bear ) was written by Peter Kitsch.

One critic commented on the pre-made song for use as a ringtone : “It's the ultimate cross-platform, intercultural phenomenon YouTube is supposed to unleash.” It can be heard on the 2007 debut album, I Am Your Gummy Bear . Since the song was released, many more songs, including a cover of Blue (Da Ba Dee) , have been released by Gummibär.

Music video

Videos have been released in at least 25 languages showing the title character in orange underwear, bouncing and breakdancing .

The music video has had over two billion views on YouTube as of May 2020 , making it one of the 50 most-watched videos on the site.

In 2006 the video, a 30-second pop promo for computer-generated images (CGI) animated in Softimage XSI, was staged, designed and animated by Peter Dodd and produced by Wilfilm in Copenhagen for the Ministry of Sound GmbH in Berlin produced.
