The Icheon Daekyo Women's Football Club was a soccer franchise from Icheon , South Korea have been. The franchise played in the WK League , the top division of women's football in South Korea. They won a total of 3 championships in the WK League.
history
The franchise was founded in November 2002 and has played in the league since the WK-League was founded in 2008.
In the first WK League season, they immediately reached the first place that allowed them to participate in the championship final. Against Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels they won the first and second leg 1-0 each. This made them the first champions of the WK League. In the following season they only reached 3rd place and were therefore not qualified for the championship finals, so they could not defend their title. In 2011 they were able to reach 1st place with a 17 point lead and were directly qualified for the championship finals. Again they played against Incheon. The first leg ended 2-2. They won the second leg 3-1 and were champions for the second time. In the next season they were able to reach the first place as defending champions and were again in the final, the opponent was again Incheon. The first leg was lost 0-1, in the second leg they won 3-1, were champions for the third time and thus defended a title in the WK League for the first time. As a renewed defending champion they reached only 3rd place in the 2013 season and played in the semifinals against Seoul WFC ; the game went 2: 3 to Seoul, so that a new title defense was not possible. The second place was achieved in the following season, again in the semifinals there was a game against Seoul WFC: it ended just 1-0 for Icheon. Incheon was waiting again in the final. The first leg ended 0-1 in Incheon, the second leg 0-0. So the final was lost and Icheon was runner-up for the first time in the club's history. Last season they only reached 2nd place as runner-up and had to compete in the semifinals against Suwon FMC WFC , against which they secured the final with a 2-1 win, where the previous year's champions from Incheon were waiting. The first leg in Icheon ended in a 0-0 draw. In the second leg they lost on penalties in Incheon; for the second time in a row it was only enough for runner-up.
