Ichikawa Hikotaro

Ichikawa Hikotaro ( Japanese 市 河 彦 太郎 ; * 1896 in Shizuoka ; † 1946 ) was a Japanese diplomat .

Life

Ichikawa Hikotaro graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1920 , entered the foreign service, was employed in Tientsin , London, in 1925 as Vice-Consul in Calcutta and in 1927 in Chicago . In 1932 he became third class legation secretary in the Foreign Ministry. In 1933 he became the legation secretary in Stockholm . In 1935 he was Chargé d'affaires in Helsinki, where in 1936 he was appointed Secretary of the First Class. In 1938 he became head, first of the third and then the second cultural department of the Foreign Ministry. In November 1940 he was appointed envoy to Tehran , where he was accredited from March 1941 to April 15, 1942.
