ichor
Named Ichor ( Greek ἰχώρ ) is in Greek mythology refers to the liquid that the gods instead of the blood of the people flowing through.
In Homer's Iliad , the exiting Ichor is described as dark or black . Homer never mentions any other color. In the Iliad z. B. Aphrodite injured by a lance of Diomedes :
“The ambrosial blood of the
god, called Ichor, flowed , as it flows with the blessed gods;
For they do not eat bread or drink the sparkling wine;
They are therefore bloodless and are called immortal.
[...]
and the skin became black, her beautiful one. "
Other meanings
- In medicine it is used to denote purulent blood or wound water.
- Occasionally it occurs in the literature to denote the blood of aliens or immortals. HP Lovecraft , Anne McCaffrey, and Ricardo Pinto ( The Chameleon's Stone Circle ) use this term in their works.
- As a name for Tiberium by the Scrin in Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars .
