Valeska Homburg (born January 3, 1976 in Wolfsburg ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1995 at Fallersleben , Valeska Homburg traveled through Australia for six months . Afterwards she began studying at the German Sport University Cologne . After completing her undergraduate studies, she spent another year in Australia, working for the Northern Territory Institute of Sport in Darwin as a sports science assistant. In 2000 Valeska Homburg completed her studies (focus: training & performance) as a qualified sports scientist.

After working for RTL (breakfast television), n-tv , ZDF and Deutsche Welle , Valeska Homburg switched to Südwestrundfunk in Stuttgart in 2002 . There she initially worked in the sports department and for two years as a presenter for the state news program "Baden-Württemberg Aktuell". In addition, from 2005 to 2006 Valeska Homburg presented the SWR car magazine " Rasthaus ". From 2006 to 2011, she hosted the Sunday evening program “ Sport in the Third ”, alternating with Michael Antwerpes , Johannes Seemüller and Tom Bartels .

Valeska Homburg became known nationwide as the host of winter sports broadcasts on ARD . Since 2007 she has occasionally worked as a reporter for the ski jumping broadcasts of the ARD, later together with the former ski jumper Dieter Thoma as a presenter at the ski jumping World Cups and the Four Hills Tournament. For the ARD she was u. a. at the Olympic Winter Games in Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010, as well as at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf 2005, Sapporo 2007 and Liberec 2009. At the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing in 2008 she was part of the ARD team on site and presented the news in the "Olympic Telegram". She was also present as a presenter at the men's ski jumping on the normal hill and at the bobsleigh competitions at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , Canada .

Apart from winter sports, Homburg was at the Gymnastics World Cup 2007 in Stuttgart, the Gymnastics EM Berlin in 2011 and the Soccer World Cup in South Africa in 2010. At times she moderated the sports area in the ARD Tagesthemen . In the summer of 2011 she left SWR and ARD . On October 12, 2011, she switched to the Bundesliga broadcaster of Deutsche Telekom , LIGA total! , announced. There it was mainly used at games in the west and south-west of the republic. She moderates the sports news on the news channel n-tv. Since May 2013 she has been working for the NDR and moderating the sports club . In 2015 she also worked for the NDR in Montreal at the women's soccer World Cup .

In addition, Valeska Homburg has been regularly participating in international tennis tournaments for the ATP since 2001 , where she is responsible for the international newsfeed .
