Ida Lücke , née Deneke , (born March 13, 1838 in Magdeburg , † February 18, 1920 in Magdeburg) established several foundations in the Magdeburg region.

Life

Ida Lücke was born as the daughter of the Magdeburg businessman Carl Deneke and his wife Ida Deneke , née Jäger. She married the Magdeburg businessman Gustav Lücke . After his death, she inherited half of the considerable fortune and used a large part of this for charitable foundations.

In the Werder district of Magdeburg , she first founded the Ida-Lücke-Heim for single women. She then planned to found a children's home, which was opened in Darlingerode in early 1902 as the Gustav-Lücke-Stift . The home was used to recuperate Magdeburg children from poor backgrounds. She transferred this property to the Magdeburg Association for Female Diakonie Bethanien .

In her honor, a street in the Werder district was named Lückestrasse during her lifetime and it still bears this name today.
