Idafeld

The iðavöllr even Idawöll , Old Norse Iðawǫllr or Iðavöllr "Field of bustle" is, in Norse mythology, a field or area in the middle of Asgard . According to Snorri Sturluson, the Halls of Gladsheim , the law hall of the sir, and Wingolf , the assembly hall of the goddesses ( Gylfaginning , Chapter 14) are on the Ida field . According to Snorri Sturluson, the whole of Asgard was built on this field, because in the Gylfaginning (Chapter 53) he says: "Widar and Wali [...] live on the Ida field, where Asgard was previously." The place also served as a blacksmith's workshop of the gods ( Völuspá , stanza 7).

After the apocalypse Ragnarok here gather the surviving Asen , to discuss the reconstruction of the world (Gylfaginning, chapter 53, see also vafþrúðnismál , verse 51). The Idafeld thus united the place of assembly, legislation and handicrafts and thus formed the center of Asgard not only geographically but also socially.
