Bromölla IF was founded on June 13, 1927. Initially, the club played in the lower class area of the league pyramid, but rose in 1940 to the third division. Just two years later they won the relay and after successes against IFK Oskarshamn in the promotion games, the team rose to the second division. In the first two seasons placed in the middle of the table, she occupied only one relegation place in the season 1944/45 and rose together with Höganäs BK . Equal on points with season winner Olofström IF , the club missed the direct promotion due to the poorer goal quotient . Also in the following season, second in season, the team survived a league reform at the third level, but had no chance in the following year and rose to the fourth division with Nybro IF and Malmö BI .
1955 returned Bromölla IF back to the third division and held there four seasons. After relegation in 1959, the club rose again two years later and then managed the direct march into the second division. There she established herself and reached in 1967 as Ifö / Bromölla IF competing with the runner-up in the season Södra Götaland behind Östers IF the best result in the club's history to date. Ifö / Bromölla IF established themselves after relegation in the third highest division, with the team temporarily playing in the promotion race and in the relegation battle. In a league reform in 2005 Ifö / Bromölla IF was downgraded to two divisions, but the team managed to climb immediately to the fifth division. In 2009 he returned to fourth class for one season.
