Ignace Xavier Joseph Leybach
Ignace Xavier Joseph Leybach (born July 17, 1817 in Gambsheim in Alsace , † May 23, 1891 in Toulouse ) was a French composer and organist .
Ignace Xavier Joseph Leybach received his musical training in Strasbourg and later in Paris . His teachers were Johann Peter Pixis , Friedrich Kalkbrenner and Frédéric Chopin . In 1844 he became organist at Toulouse Cathedral.
Leybach was an excellent pianist and has published a large number of salon compositions that have become popular (e.g. Tarantella, op.72, published by Schott, Mainz), as well as a harmonium school , concert pieces for harmonium, a large organ school ( L'organiste pratique , 3 Volumes of 130, 120 and 100 pieces) and some booklets of songs and motets with organ.
