Ignacio Piatti (born February 4, 1985 in General Baldissera ) is an Argentine football player who is used as a striker . He is currently under contract with Montreal Impact .

Career

Ignacio Piatti began his career with youth teams in General Baldissera, including the Club Miter de General Baldissera. In 2004 he moved to the Chacarita Juniors , for which he was active until 2006.

In 2006, Piatti moved to French professional football and was signed by AS Saint-Étienne . At Étienne, however, he did not get beyond the role of supplementary player. Piatti moved back to Argentina and he joined Gimnasia LP .

With Gimnasia LP Piatti stayed until 2009. He was used in 77 league games and was able to score nine goals. In 2009 he finally moved to CA Independiente , where he was used in 35 league games in the 2009/10 season; he got eight hits.

In the summer of 2010, Piatti moved again to Europe, this time he joined the Italian US Lecce . He was active for Lecce in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons until he moved again to Argentina and joined San Lorenzo de Almagro in July 2012 . He stayed with San Lorenzo until August 2014; in 53 league games he scored a total of twelve goals.

In August 2014, Piatti moved to the North American Major League Soccer and joined the Canadian franchise Montreal Impact . Piatti played his first game in the MLS on August 16, 2014 against Chicago Fire . On August 30, he was able to achieve a goal for Impact for the first time; he scored both goals in the 2-0 win against the Columbus Crew . Overall, he was used six times in the 2014 season , scoring four goals. The good rate of goals ensured that he was regularly on the starting line-up of Montreal Impact in the 2015 season .
