Ignacy Abłamowicz

Ignacy Abłamowicz (* 1787 ; † 1848 ) was a Polish physicist and chemist .

Life

In 1808 Ignacy Abłamowicz graduated from Vilnius University , after which he taught physics in Minsk for two years . After he was called back to Vilnius, he was initially an assistant at the Faculty of Physics, from 1813 professor of physics at the grammar school there and from 1817 adjunct at the Faculty of Chemistry.

From 1818 he spent six years research trips abroad, particularly in Paris . From 1827 he was a professor of physics and meteorology at the Lyceum in Kremenez . He based his lectures on the handbooks of French physicists such as Beudant and Pouillet . After the Lyceum closed in 1831, he worked as a full professor at the University of Kiev , where he remained until his retirement in 1837. He has not published any writings.
