Ignaz Spies

Ignaz Spies (born December 20, 1831 in Schlettstadt ; † July 28, 1899 in Schlettstadt) was mayor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Spies attended high schools in Schlettstadt and Strasbourg . He was a member of the District Assembly of Lower Alsace since 1886 and a member of the Provincial Committee of Alsace-Lorraine since 1888. He was also Honorary Mayor of the city of Schlettstadt from 1886 to 1893.

From 1896 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Alsace-Lorraine 6 ( Schlettstadt ). The mandate ended with his death.
