Ignaz Stahl (theologian)

Ignaz Stahl (born September 30, 1839 in Stadtprozelten , † March 31, 1902 in Würzburg ) was a German Catholic theologian.

Career

Stahl studied at the Collegium Germanicum seminary in Rome and received his PhD. theol. and to the Dr. phil. On March 15, 1862, he was ordained a priest. He spent his time as chaplain in Aschaffenburg, then was secretary to Bishop Georg Anton Stahl during the First Vatican Council and pastor in prison.

Around 1869 he was appointed private lecturer in theology at the University of Würzburg and there in 1894 as honorary professor.
