Ignazio Masotti
Ignazio Masotti (born January 16, 1817 in Forlì , † October 31, 1888 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal to the Curia .
Life
Masotti was the long-time secretary of the Cardinal Secretary of State Giuseppe Bofondi . He became secretary of the Congregatio de Propaganda Fide in 1879 and secretary of the Congregation for Religious in 1882 . In the consistory of November 10, 1884 Masotti was from Pope Leo XIII. the cardinal done; on November 13, 1884 was appointed cardinal deacon of San Cesareo in Palatio .
In 1886 he was appointed Pro-Prefect of the Congregation for Religious and in 1887 he was appointed Prefect .
