Igor Duljaj ( Cyrillic : Игор Дуљај ) (born October 29, 1979 in Aranđelovac , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian football player . He was most recently under contract with the Ukrainian football club PFK Sevastopol . This club was dissolved in 2014.

Duljaj is a defensive midfielder who, due to his inconspicuous style of play, is not one of the most popular players in his country, but is or was an important pillar of his national team due to his effective game, his tremendously good condition and his duel strength.

Club career

Duljaj comes from the Partizan Belgrade youth school and was under contract with this club from 1990 to 2004. In 1997 Duljaj moved up to Partizan's first team. He rose to an important player personality at Partizan and helped become Serbian champions in 1999, 2002 and 2003 and to win the Serbian Cup in 2001. In 2003 he was on the verge of leaving the club, but then decided to stay to enable the club to make it into the group stage of the UEFA Champions League for the first time . In 2004 Duljaj finally moved for € 4 million to the Ukrainian top club Shakhtar Donetsk , where he won the cup in 2004 and 2008 and won the Ukrainian championship in 2005, 2006 and 2008.

National team career

His debut in the Serbian national team , then still playing under the name Serbia-Montenegro , he made on November 15, 2000 in the international match against Romania . By 2007 he played 47 international matches in which he did not score a single goal. He was also in his country's squad for the 2006 World Cup . In the previous World Cup qualification , he was only absent from one game due to a suspension.
