Igor Sergejewitsch Jemelejew ( Russian Игорь Сергеевич Емелеев ; born March 7, 1981 in Yaroslavl , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract from the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Igor Jemeleev began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of the HK CSKA Moscow , for whose professional team and whose second professional division he was active from 1999 to 2005 in the Vysschaya League and the Super League . The center then moved to SKA Saint Petersburg for the 2005/06 season within the Super League . He played for the club for a total of two years before spending the 2007/08 season at HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk and HK Dynamo Moscow .

For the 2008/09 season , Jemeleev returned to his ex-club SKA Saint Petersburg, which had since been included in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . After only five games, however, he left the team again and joined another club, HK Dynamo Moscow, for which he had already been active. The season itself he ended at Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , for which he was on the ice in the following season .

Since the 2010/11 season , Jemeleev has been under contract with the newly promoted HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk . For his new club he scored eight goals and prepared 15 in a total of 57 games in his first year. For the former national player this meant a new personal best in the KHL. In June 2012 he was signed by Severstal Tscherepowez . After 14 games for the club, he left Severstal and moved to Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg , where he played until the end of the 2014/15 season.

International

For Russia , Jemeleev took part in the 2006 World Cup. He was also in his country's squad for the Euro Hockey Tour in 2005 and 2006 .
