Igor Wladimirowitsch Syssojew ( Russian Игорь Владимирович Сысоев ; born September 5, 1980 in Leningrad , also transliterated as Sysoev or Sysoyev ) is a former Russian triathlete and Olympian (2008).

Career

In May 2004 Igor Syssojew was fifth in the Triathlon World Championships over the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling, 10 km running).

2004 Summer Olympics

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens he was fifteenth and in 2008 Syssoyev finished ninth as the best Russian starter in Beijing.

Syssoyev was also able to win the Russia Cup in 2009 and in the same year he was 10th among the Russian triathletes according to the official Russian rating, which is based on various Russian and international competitions.

In the Russian Triathlon Championships 2010 in Penza Syssojew fifth. In 2010 Syssojew also took part in the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux , representing Metz Tri.

In May 2016 he won the 35-39 age group at the European Triathlon Championships in Lisbon. Igor Syssojew has not appeared internationally since 2016.

He has been married to the Russian triathlete and marathon swimmer Irina Alexejewna Abyssowa (* 1980) since 2003 . The two live in Moscow with their two children .
