Igor Vladimirovich Vasilyev
Igor Wladimirowitsch Wassiljew ( Russian Игорь Владимирович Васильев , born April 1, 1964 in Volgograd ) is a Russian handball coach . The former player was mostly used as a right backcourt player.
The 1.97 m tall Wassiljew played for GK Kaustik Wolgograd , in Switzerland for TV Suhr and later for the German second division TSG Altenhagen-Heepen . With the United Team he won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Games . He also celebrated the title with the Russian national team at the 1993 World Cup . A year later he lost in the final of the European Championship in 1994 .
In the 2005/06 season Vasilyev was youth coach at TV Nieder-Olm . Until 2011 he coached the district upper division club SG Wehrheim / Obernhain.
