Your best shot is a German silent film from 1916 with Henny Porten in the lead role.
action
Traute Dieffenbach, the daughter of the chief forester, loves the young Günther von Corvin, the son of a count and a large landowner. The young man follows the family's wishes and marries appropriately: Countess Dagmar von Retzlav. At the invitation of the young countess, Traute enters the housekeeping of the noble family and notices that the new wife is cheating on her husband Günther with the Count of Wachhusen.
Finally, Günther becomes aware of this and challenges the competitor to a duel. In order not to expose her love Günther to Wachhusen's shooting skills, Traute quickly takes the revolver in hand and shoots the opponent in the arm so that he can no longer aim. It'll be her best shot.
