Ildefons Manfred Fux

Ildefons Manfred Fux OSB (* 1939 in Vienna ) is an Austrian Benedictine .

Life

He studied theology and was ordained a priest after receiving his doctorate in 1969 . From 1987 he worked as Episcopal Vicar of the Archdiocese of Vienna and later also headed the Archbishop's Office for Beatification and Canonization. He was spiritual in Marienfeld and church rector in Vienna III. From 2001 to 2007 he taught spiritual theology at the PTH St. Pölten . In 2006 he was dressed as a Benedictine in the monastery of St. Josef in Maria Roggendorf .

His main research interests are devotion to the Sacred Heart and hagiography. In his book Victor qvia victima. How to bring down a bishop he deals with the case of Archbishop Hans Hermann Groër , who resigned as chairman of the Austrian Bishops 'Conference in 1995 after allegations of sexual abuse of students at the Hollabrunn boys' seminary .
