Ile Art Malans
The Ile Art Malans is a sculpture park near Malans (Haute-Saône) in France . The approximately 15 hectare area is located in a natural, wooded area between the former quarries of Malans and the valley of the Ognon . It is partly owned by the municipality of Malans and the local Château Sainte Marie .
Project description
In agreement with the municipality of Malans, the association “Association Ile Art, Malans” was founded in autumn 2012. The initiators are Dorothea Malär, Arlette Maréchal-Perez, the sculptors Andrea Malär and Denis Perez, as well as the “Fondation Carré d'Art”, a foundation to promote artistic creation. A number of artists had already been selected in spring 2012 and the installation of their works had begun. The locations are determined by the artists themselves. The majority of the works have been purchased by the Fondation Carré d'Art (Fondation CDA) and are permanently installed. The artistic spectrum includes figurative, abstract and sculptures and installations specially created for the location. The sculpture park is open all year round and freely accessible.
