Variable composition in Vinelz / Switzerland

Andrea Malär (born February 20, 1947 in Chur ) is a Swiss sculptor and graphic artist .

life and work

Andrea Malär is a self-taught artist and has been working as a freelance artist since 1994. He has been making original graphics and monotypes since 2000, and steel sculptures since 2001. In his early works, Malär still used organic forms, but soon switched to mainly geometrical-constructive elements. The symbiosis of steel sculptures and prints is at the center of his work. He conceives sculptures as "variable compositions", the parts of which are not permanently connected and allow different combinations.

Andrea Malär is a member of VISARTE Switzerland, Sculpture network , Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques, Unesco, Paris and the Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects (SIA).

He lives and works in Vinelz, Switzerland, in the canton of Bern and in Malans (Haute-Saône) in France .

Since 2010, the sculpture park at Château Sainte Marie in Malans has been a permanent exhibition space for Andrea Malär's works. In 2012, through the initiative of Andrea Malär, Denis Pérez and Arlette Maréchal Ile Art Malans , a project for contemporary sculptures and installations was set up.
