The Ilha de Alcatrazes is the main island of the Brazilian archipelago of Alcatrazes , upstream of the north of the state of São Paulo and the city of São Sebastião a good 40 kilometers south.

The Ilhabela is about 20 kilometers to the northeast . The 1.96 km² large uninhabited island long served the Brazilian Navy as a training and firing area. The island reaches a height of 316 meters.

Due to the lack of water, the vegetation is sparse. In addition to beetles and butterflies, there are snakes. The avifauna offers among other things Magnificent Frigatebird (Fregata magnificens) and brown booby (Sula leucogaster).
