Ilim Timber ( Russian Илим Тимбер ) is a wood processing company based in Saint Petersburg in Russia and has plants in Russia, Germany and the USA. It employs around 3000 people in total. The owner of Ilim Timber is Boris Zingarevich.

history

Ilim Timber is named after the Siberian river Ilim and was created in 2007 as a spin-off of Northwest Russia and Siberia , softwood processing plants of Russia's largest pulp producer Ilim Pulp . The Ilim Pulp company was founded in 1992 and produced pulp , paper and packaging; was also Ilim Pulp operates in the field of timber harvesting and woodworking. In 2007 it had annual sales of $ 1.5 billion.

The production areas of pulp, paper, packaging and wood harvesting were brought into the joint venture Ilim Group held jointly by Ilim Pulp and the US company International Paper in 2007 . The former softwood processing activities of Ilim Pulp, on the other hand - production of sawn timber , plywood and fiberboard in the Siberian cities of Ust-Ilimsk and Bratsk - have since been continued by Ilim Timber .

In August 2010 Ilim Timber took over two sawmills and planing plants from the Austrian Klausner Group in Germany , one in Wismar and the other in Landsberg am Lech . In March 2011, the company also acquired the US Tolleson Lumber Company with two sawmills in Perry and Preston , both in Georgia . Since then, Ilim Timber has been one of the ten largest woodworking companies in the world.

Ilim Timber produces around 3.9 million m³ of sawn timber, around 150,000 m³ of plywood and around 40 million m² of fibreboard every year. Plywood and fiberboard are produced exclusively at the Bratsk site.
