Ilona Deckwerth (born February 8, 1961 in Möhren ) is a German politician ( SPD ). Since January 1, 2017, she has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . In the state election in 2018, she was not re-elected and thus left the state parliament.

Life

Ilona Deckwerth was born in 1961 in Möhren, which was incorporated in 1972 in Treuchtlingen in Middle Franconia. She attended the integrated and differentiated comprehensive school in Treuchtlingen, where she graduated from high school. She has lived in Ostallgäu since 1989 and in Füssen since 2000 . After studying special education in Munich and doing a legal clerkship in Passau, she worked from 1989 to 2016 as a special education teacher at the support center in Füssen and was a staff councilor.

Deckwerth has been a member of the SPD since 1984 and a member of the SPD city ​​council in Füssen since 2006 . In 2011 she was elected to the state board of the BayernSPD for two years .

On January 1, 2017, she moved into the Bavarian State Parliament as the successor to Linus Förster , who left on December 31, 2016 . There she was spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group for people with disabilities and extracurricular inclusion.
