Heinrich Linus Förster (born August 2, 1965 in Augsburg ) is a former German politician ( non-party , until 2016 SPD ). He was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 2003 to December 31, 2016 .

Life

Linus Förster graduated from high school in Augsburg in 1985. From 1986 to 1992 he studied political science , history and economics at the University of Augsburg . From 1993 to 1997 he wrote a dissertation on the subject of system transformation using the example of the former Soviet Republic of Belarus , with which he was awarded a Dr. phil. received his doctorate .

From 1992 to 2002 Förster worked as an independent management consultant and from 1992 to 2000 as a research assistant at the Chair of Political Science at the University of Augsburg. From 1988 to 2003 he was a member of the board of the Stadt Jugendring Augsburg, an interest group for children and young people, and from 1993 its first chairman. From May 2002 until he joined the Bavarian State Parliament, Förster was managing director of the Bukowina Institute at the University of Augsburg .

He appeared regularly as a member of the band Hopfenstrudel (vocals and background guitar) and the band Real Deal , with which he won the Varta Rock Prize. He also worked as a performer in performances by the theater ensemble Bluespots Productions . He was a co-founder of the band Damage Limiter and in 2011 belonged to the SPD cabaret group Hohn und Spott in the Bavarian state parliament .

politics

Linus Förster was a member of the SPD from 1984 to 2016; from 2004 to 2014 he was deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district Augsburg-Stadt and from 2005 a member of the state board and presidium of the BayernSPD . From 2003 he was elected three times to the Bavarian state parliament. From 2014 to 2016 he was district chairman of the SPD in Swabia. As of December 31, 2016, he left the Bavarian State Parliament prematurely (see criminal proceedings ); Ilona Deckwerth came up.

Förster was youth and European policy spokesman for the SPD state parliamentary group, chairman of the Federal and European Affairs working group of the SPD state parliamentary group, chairman of the working group for employee issues in Augsburg and deputy chairman of the committee for federal and European affairs in the Bavarian state parliament. He was also a member of the monitoring team in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe .

He is a member of IG Metall and the German Association for Political Science (DVPW). In 1995 he was awarded the Municipal Medal of Merit .

Criminal proceedings

In November 2016, investigations by the Augsburg Public Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of violation of the highly personal sphere of life through picture taking and bodily harm against Förster became public. He has therefore temporarily suspended his political leadership positions in the party and in the state parliament since mid-November 2016 and announced that he will be leaving the SPD and resigning his state parliament mandate at the end of the year, which he implemented shortly before his arrest. In the course of the investigation, searches were carried out which provided evidence of further criminal acts. Mid-December 2016 lifted the state legislature, the political immunity of the deputies, after which foresters because of strong suspicion of serious sexual abuse of a resistance incompetent people the highly personal living area by image capture, intentional assault and property, violation of child pornography magazines in remand was taken. Förster made a comprehensive confession in the main hearing from September 18, 2017 before the Augsburg Regional Court , until which the pre- trial detention continued. On September 29, 2017, Förster u. a. sexual abuse and possession of child pornography to a term of imprisonment sentenced of three years and ten months. At the beginning of October it became known that both the defense and the public prosecutor's office had appealed against the verdict. In December 2017, Förster and the public prosecutor withdrew the appeal, so that the judgment became final.

After Förster had served two-thirds of his sentence, he was released on parole in August 2019.
