Ilonka Struve

Ilonka Struve (born January 20, 1960 in Neustadt-Glewe ) is a German librarian and children's book author.

Life

After graduating from the Extended Oberschule (EOS), Struve studied librarianship in Leipzig . After completing her studies, she worked in the Weißenfels city ​​and district library in the Halle district . There she founded a library club and a film club. After the political change , she headed the socio-cultural children's and youth center Seumeclub in Weissenfels from 1991 . In 1992 Struve became the full-time chairwoman of the Seumevereins Weißenfels eV After the Seumeclub closed in 2010, Struve became a research assistant at the Museum Weißenfels , where she looks after the museum library at Neu-Augustusburg Castle and is responsible for museum education and visitor services.

Since 1999 she has been publishing children's books that she has written herself, which are mainly based on painting and play stories from the Seumeclub or the educational work in the museum in Weißenfels.

Struve is a member of the Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis in Sachsen-Anhalt eV and was appointed ambassador for warmth in 2008.
