Ilse Reil , née Steffens (born October 13, 1919 in Sartowitz , † December 10, 2013 in Göttingen , buried in Oldenburg / OL ), was a German recorder player.

Life and professional history

Ilse Reil-Steffens grew up in Sopot and studied recorder , piano and choral conducting in Danzig . During the Second World War , she directed the Danzig Radio Choir. She taught the recorder at the University of Oldenburg for eight years . Your most famous student is Sarah Nemtsov .

From 1945 to 1997 she was a member of the Reil Trio, with which she has given around 7,500 concerts in Germany, Sweden, France and Belgium. In 1979 the Reil Trio was awarded the City Seal of the City of Oldenburg for its services .

Ilse Reil-Steffens was married to the musician Detmar Reil. He died in 1980. The marriage resulted in two daughters.
