Imam Sahib is a district in Afghanistan .

It belongs to the province of Kunduz and is about 70 kilometers from Kunduz . The administrative center of the district is the city of the same name, Imam Sahib .

In the downtown area of the capital is a Combat Outpost Fortitude of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) carried by the armed forces of the United States is operated. There are also around 300 men from the Afghan Local Police (ALP) and 274 from the Afghan National Police (ANP) in the city (as of February 2012).

Qayyub Ibrahimi is Imam Sahib's police chief.

history

Imam Sahib's district governor was Mohammad Ayub Haqyar until early 2011 . He was released because his brother was allegedly a Taliban commander .

On February 21, 2011, a suicide attack took place in front of Imam Sahib's statistics office, in which at least 26 people were killed and 37 injured. Most of the victims stood in line to pick up new IDs.
