Imanpa is a location in the Northern Territory , Australia . At the 2016 census, the place had 151 inhabitants. Imanpa is 7 km north of the Lasseter Highway , 160 km east of Inselberg Uluru and 200 km southwest of Alice Springs .

history

The place was founded in 1978. The area was taken from the Mount Ebenezer cattle ranch to form a central location for the herdsmen who live there. Today there is a school for elementary and middle school students, as well as a clinic, which is manned by a nurse, but the Royal Flying Doctor takes care of the treatment in medical emergencies . In the summer of 2009, a new community shop called "Yaatitjiti Store" opened in the village, selling food and everyday items.

climate

Imanpa is located in a dry climatic zone with a long summer from October to mid-March. The average maximum daily temperature in January is usually over 35˚C, and temperatures above 40˚C are not uncommon. In winter the temperatures are mild and usually around 20˚C. Precipitation is limited to a few days a year.
