The Imlinsche Haus was a representative stone building of the Renaissance in Heilbronn . The building was built for the mayor Clement Imlin († 1585). The Imlin family provided other mayors of Heilbronn and were among the wealthiest families in the city. Like all of Heilbronn's inner city, the building was destroyed in the air raid on December 4, 1944 , and today there is a post-war office building in its place.

history

The Imlinsche Haus was located at Kirchbrunnenstrasse 15 and was built between 1535 and 1585 on older vaults with Romanesque columns. A special feature was that the lower three storeys were made of solid sandstone , and three attic storeys in Alemannic-Franconian half-timbered construction with overhanging storeys extended above them . Another special feature of the house was the sandstone bay window, which was built according to plans by Hans Kurz , Heilbronn's great Renaissance master builder, who also designed Heilbronn's town hall . Inside the house had coffered ceilings from the time of construction . The execution as one of the few stone houses in the city and the high-quality furnishings of the building documented the prosperity of the Imlin family.

In the 19th century, the old German wine bar Zum Käthchen was located in the building . The building was plastered in the 19th century, following the taste of the times, later the sandstone facade and the half-timbering were exposed again. The building was destroyed in the air raid on December 4, 1944 .
