The evergreen Osterluzei ( Aristolochia sempervirens ) is a plant from the family of the Osterluzei family (Aristolochiaceae).

features

The evergreen easter lucei is an evergreen climbing plant that lignifies at the bottom and reaches heights of up to 5 meters. The leaves are ovate-lanceolate, leathery and glabrous. At the bottom they are deeply heart-shaped and slightly eared. The flowers are yellow with purple stripes and 2 to 5 inches long. The tube is U-shaped.

The flowering period extends from March to July.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 14.

Occurrence

The species occurs mainly in the eastern Mediterranean as well as in Sicily and Algeria. It grows in shady and moist locations. The distribution area originally includes Greece, Sicily, Crete, the Aegean Sea, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Israel. In Algeria the originality is doubtful. In Italy and France the species is a neophyte.
