Immolata Kronpass

Immolata Kronpaß OCist (born March 18, 1925 in Munich - real name Theresia Kronpaß ; † March 8, 2010 in La Paz ) was the prioress in La Paz.

Life

In 1949 Kronpaß entered the Cistercian abbey in Seligenthal , where she took the religious name Maria Immolata. The dressing took place on May 1, 1950 , in 1951 she made her temporary and in 1954 her perpetual profession . She was a teacher and secretary to the then abbess Columba Baumgartner .

After being sent to Bolivia in 1972 , she gradually became rector of the Colegio Ave Maria , which under her leadership grew into the largest school in Bolivia with over 4,000 students.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Sr. M. Immolata worked intensively with Father Polykarp Zakar , who later became Abbot General of the Order, in the field of the history of the Order and the liturgy. She was closely involved in the publication of the five volumes of the Latin Appendix ad Breviarium Cisterciense , which were published between 1974 and 1977. She also worked as a scientific assistant to M. Assumpta Schenkl (the later abbess of Seligenthal and Helfta ). She organized study conferences in Seligenthal and Rome.

In 2006 she suffered a stroke . In 2010 she was buried in the German Cemetery in La Paz.
