The technique of Immuno-PCR (IPCR) was presented in a scientific article in 1992 by Sano and co-workers. The IPCR method uses an immunoconjugate consisting of an antibody and a DNA marker fragment to detect proteins . application areas

The system can be used for the detection of proteins, theoretically for the detection of a single antigen molecule. As a routine method, IPCR is increasingly finding its way into molecular bioanalytics, both because it can be used for immunological issues and in clinical diagnostics .
