Impaler was an English death metal band from Leamington Spa , which was founded in 1988 under the name Carnage and broke up around 1992. The band played with groups like Benediction , Carcass and Cancer throughout their career .

history

The band was formed in 1988 under the name Carnage. After the band released a few demos under that name, the band changed their name to Impaler in 1991 after signing a contract with Deaf Records . In 1992 the album Charnel Deity was released under the name Impaler . The group consisted of the bassist and guitarist Chris Drew, the drummer Nick Adams, the guitarist Paul Mariotti and the singer Edd. The recordings for this took place in Mables Hut in Leamington Spa, while it was mixed in the Rhythm Studios in Feckenham . Then the band broke up.

style

The band plays classic death metal, with guttural vocals and abrupt tempo changes. The music is comparable to the works of Morbid Angel , Pestilence , Death , Obituary or Possessed .
