Ina Korter (born January 8, 1955 in Nordenham ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2003 to 2014 she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament, and between 2014 and 2020 she was mayor of Butjadingen .

Ina Korter is divorced and has two children.

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Korter studied history and art / visual communication for teaching at secondary schools from 1974-77. She completed her legal clerkship in 1978/79 in Heuchelheim . In 1980/81 she worked at the Orientation Level South and from 1981-87 as a tutor in the St. Vinzenz-Heim in Nordenham . After parental leave, she worked in youth and adult education, at a nursing school and at the adult education center and taught children of immigrants. Between 1994 and 2000 she was the head of the multicultural children's meeting of the German Child Protection Association in Nordenham. She then worked at the paddock school in Ovelgönne until she was elected to the state parliament .

Korter has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1982 . From 1998 to 2003 she was a member of the Lower Saxony state board. 1991-96 she belonged to the district council of the Wesermarsch district and was chairman of the local Green parliamentary group. 1996–98 she was a member of the Nordenham City Council. In the state elections in 2003 , 2008 and 2013 , Korter was elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament via the state list.

In 2014 Ina Korter was elected mayor of the municipality of Butjadingen . Already in the first ballot she prevailed against three competitors. She then renounced her mandate in the Landtag; Regina Asendorf moved up for her in the state parliament.
