description
An Indian horse harness is usually made of metal , leather and fabrics . An Indian horse armor consists of three parts, side parts and a horse forehead and is made of small metal plates that are connected to each other, overlapping. The metal plates are sewn or riveted onto a base made of thick fabric . The visible fabric parts with steel rivets or rosettes made of brass decorated. The horse's forehead is made of thick leather and is padded with fabric. In other versions, the horse's forehead is made of iron or steel. The surface is decorated with rivets and other metal parts. Some versions have a horse forehead that is shaped in the shape of an elephant . The trunk consists of elongated armor plates that narrow from the upper to the lower end and thus form the shape of the trunk. The tusks are made of steel. The Indian version of the horse harness is almost identical to the Turkish horse harness . This is because Indian and Persian developments were used in the other country as well. However, in other versions of the Indian horse armor, the plates and lamellas are larger than in the Turkish and Persian counterparts (see web link).
