Jihočeské papírny Větřní

The industrial line Kájov – Větřní is a connecting line of the Jihočeské papírny Větřní (Větřní paper mill) in the Czech region of South Bohemia .

history

In order to connect the paper mill in Větřní ( Wetter ), a few kilometers south of Český Krumlov (Krummau) in the Vltava Valley, to the railway network, the company built a short railway line to Kájov ( Gojau ) in 1896 . There is a connection to the České Budějovice – Černý Kříž railway line . In order to manage the range of hills and the steep descent into the Vltava valley, the installation of a hairpin in the form of a multi-track station was necessary. The distance from the exit in Kájov to the factory is around six kilometers. There is an extensive rail network on the company's premises.
