Ines Jucker

Ines Jucker (born April 29, 1922 in Zurich , née Scherrer ) is a Swiss classical archaeologist .

Ines Scherrer, daughter of the physicist Paul Scherrer , studied Romance studies and classical philology at the University of Zurich after graduating in 1942 . After a two-year stay in Rome, she studied Classical Archeology in Zurich with Arnold von Salis . On July 1, 1950, she married the classical archaeologist Hans Jucker . On July 12, 1952, she passed the oral doctoral examination, the formal doctorate took place in 1956 after the dissertation “The Gestus des Aposkopein. A Contribution to Sign Language in Ancient Art ”. In 1955, she and her husband were involved in the preparation of the exhibition “Art and Life of the Etruscans” in Zurich.
