The sparkling wine cellar was founded in its existing form by Kommerzialrat Karl Inführ senior (1907–1977) after the Second World War and developed into one of the largest sparkling wine producers in Austria. Today the brothers Hans and Karl Inführ run the company.
A large part of the total production of the sparkling wine cellar comes from contract sparkling, whereby own brands represent one of the main business fields of Karl Inführ KG. The Inführ Sekt brand lives mainly from word of mouth , whereby the company describes itself as the most awarded sparkling wine producer in Austria and proves this with medals and certificates.
history
The company's roots go back to the 19th century with the acquired Champagnerfabrik AG from Brunn am Gebirge. Since 1949, the Sektkellerei Inführ has been the first Austrian winery to produce sparkling wine using the Charmat method (tank fermentation process) and thus asserted itself against traditional sparkling wine producers. This made sparkling wine available to a large part of the Austrian population.
At that time, sparkling wine was mainly accessible to the upper class due to the high prices, which were also due to the elaborate Méthode traditionnelle . In 1968 and 1970, the sparkling wine cellar also produced sparkling fruit wine and sparkling wine suitable for diabetics for the first time in Austria .
In 1979 the Federal Minister awarded the Sektkellerei the state award for bearing the Austrian coat of arms . In 1997, a gold sparkling wine was introduced (sparkling wine with 23 carat gold leaf added), which became one of the most successful sparkling wine products in recent years even after the relaunch as "Austria Gold".
